Baked Hot Chocolate

I am always trying to find fun and easy recipes I can share with my children. The holiday season is the perfect time to experiment and dabble in the kitchen. This delightful twist on traditional hot chocolate is simple to prepare and a winner with both adults and children alike. Bottoms up!

Ingredients:

  • 9 ounces of chocolate chip morsels
  • ¹⁄³ cup salted butter
  • 4 eggs
  • ¼ cup sugar

 

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350° Fahrenheit. Melt chocolate and butter in a bowl over a double boiler. Combine the eggs and sugar in another bowl and whisk until blended. Transfer egg mix to an electric mixer and whip until fluffy and foamy.BHC Eggs

Fold whipped eggs into melted chocolate.BHC Eggs_Choc

Divide batter evenly into 3-4 oven safe mugs or dishes and bake for 18-22 minutes.BHC Prebake

BHC Cooling

Allow mugs to cool to the touch; serve warm.
